Friday 21 June 2019. This one-day training is designed for people or organisations interested in using beekeeping and honey and beeswax trade to alleviate poverty. It is not a hands-on course about bees. We cover the different species of bees that are utilised world-wide, and introduce a range of topics concerning beekeeping in developing countries. Training day topics include: apiculture in developing countries and how it supports livelihoods; problems faced by beekeepers in financially poor countries; appropriate and sustainable – issues of technology choice; an introduction to honey marketing and trade; case studies: success stories from around the world. The course cost is £120 which includes lunch, refreshments and VAT.
